After a few weeks of know one being allowed to log into the site, we have finally resolved the issue and it is working as good as new. The store checkout has also been updated.

With the update to the whole site being made a month ago, we also updated the software that our site uses. The updated had disabled the login due to security reasons, this has now been fixed and is working safe and securely.
